NTSB Chair outraged, accuses Congress of rolling back safety regulations after deadly DCA crash

National Transportation Safety Board officials sent a letter to Congress on Wednesday after officials apparently disregarded safety recommendations after the deadly plane crash near Reagan National Airport (DCA) in January.

The Chair of the NTSB Jennifer Homendy wrote the letter to the House and Senate Armed Services Committees, writing strong opposition to a section about helicopters in the Defense Authorization Act for FY2026. Virginia Senator Tim Kaine is a member of the committee.
