Plow Day at Tri-State Museum

Joe visits Tri-State Museum's annual Plow Day in Bird City, Kansas. This is an ever growing event that brings draft horse teams and teamsters from many states to "play" in the fields together. A large display of antique farm implements and some dynamic displays of farm equipment.

Joe interviews Vance Reddon who gives us the history of the annual event.

We see a parade of teams which including Friesian/Percheron, Haflingers, Percherons, Mules, Crosses, Belgians and Fjords! All pulling various wagons/buggies and farm implements.

We see footage of the Feed Race where teams compete loading and unloading hay bales. The Pole Race" where teams haul poles (logs) with forecarts.

Joe then walks the grounds where we see a
4-horse sweep with a Sandwich power until powering an International corn sheller/grinder.

Joe interviews James Leach who owns the Tri-State museum. He and his wife farmed for 35 years and then decided to become tour bus drivers. They travelled all over the world and brought back souveneers from all their visits. They display them in this museum, all divided by location.
