We tend to focus a lot on the explosive pull-up part of the muscle-up. But the dip is also a very important part of the strict muscle-up to make it look as clean as possible. Try to push up explosively as soon as you start to transition. This will help you to not crash on the bar when reaching the end of your pull-up.

In this way, you make use of the upward momentum from the explosive pull-up and the dip just becomes an extension of that momentum and thus makes your muscle-up smoother.
