WILD AMERICAN FLAMINGOS IN FLORIDA!
American Flamingos are found from the Bahamas to the north, south to South America. Some times birds show up in Florida in the U.S. and cause quite a stir for bird watchers. Great Inagua in the southern Bahamas, has the largest population of around 60,000 to 80,000 birds! Their numbers have increased over the last 60-years thanks to habitat protection. There are old records from the Florida Keys of nesting birds. They are not know to nest in Florida in recent times.
This group consisted of 19-birds which where found in Everglades National Park.
