🎸 Learn how to play a G chord on guitar!

We start out with our pinky finger - we're going to put it on the third fret of the thinnest string. Make sure it's right up to the fret.

Then we're going to put our ring finger just above it on the third fret of the B string, and our middle finger on the third fret of the thickest string. You'll have to lower your thumb a bit to make that reach.

You can optionally put your index finger on the second fret of the string, but for now that string will most likely be muted by the underside of your middle finger.

If you want an easier variation, you can just put your ring finger on the third fret in a string, your middle finger on the third front of the thickest string.

We strum ALL the strings for the G chord. Test each string to make sure it's ringing out properly. If you need some songs to practice the chord, I have a whole bunch on my channel, otherwise have a fun time practicing and I'll see you soon!
