Hey everybody! In today's lesson, I'm going to show you how to play "Should I Stay or Should I Go" by The Clash. This tune uses some simple chords, and a couple of different rhythm/strumming patterns to turn the exact same chord progression into two very distinct parts.

1:37 - CHORDS & SWITCHING TIPS
3:18 - SWITCHING PRACTICE
4:57 - STRUMMING PATTERN
7:17 - PLAY-ALONG
8:21 - CHORUS
11:07 - FINAL PLAY-ALONG
The lesson starts off with the chord shapes: D, G. Another version of G, which slides easily into the F chord, and A. We practice the chord shapes with downstrokes only to get used to the switching and making sure we play each one for the correct amount of time.
The strumming pattern for the verse is more of a rhythmic thing, just downstrokes only, and we go between chord shapes as we play it. We practice it over D to G, and then from G to F, then we put it together with the entire chord progression.
Next, we take the most common strumming pattern ever and put it together with the same chord progression, and that's the chorus.
Finally, we play the verse and chorus together just to give you an idea of what the song is actually like, and that's it!
This one's nice and simple and great for those who are looking to improve their rhythm without too much of a challenge.
See you soon!
