Shark WANDVAC System Review

We test and review the Shark WANDVAC System. Tests include hard floors, carpet, edge-cleaning, hair, run-times, noise levels, etc. We also discuss all the vacuum features. See the WANDVAC System at Shark.com: https://sharkclean.sjv.io/RybkYa

We walk through what you get with your Shark WANDVAC system and we discuss vacuum controls. We also highlight that this is a 2-in-1 vacuum cleaner (it is a handheld and a stick vacuum).

The handheld is very light at 2.1 lbs and we compare it to another popular Shark 2-in-1 handheld unit which is much heavier. We look at the WANDVAC dust canister and point out that it is very small. We compare the dust canister to that of several other vacuums - 2 from Shark and 1 from Hoover.

We show how to access the filter and also the wire mesh. Shark state that the wire mesh should be cleaned after every cleaning session. We discuss that the filter can be rinsed and when dry placed back in the vacuum.

There are two tools: the duster crevice tool and the pet multi-tool. We show them both and also show that the tools can be attached to the end of the handheld unit or the end of the wand.

The battery resides in the vacuum handle. It is a lithium-ion battery with fade-free power and it is a swappable battery - which means if you have two batteries you can effectively double your vacuuming run time. But the WANDVAC system only comes with one battery. The battery can be charged on the charging base that comes with the vacuum.

The charging base will only hold one of the two tools unfortunately. A charging base can be a good choice for those who don't want to put holes in their walls which is often required if you are using a wall mount. There are three charging lights on the top of the handheld unit that tell you the extent of the battery charge.

We performed run time tests on medium pile carpet, low pile carpet, and tile floors. The run times were all a little on the short side. We also found that the BOOST trigger wasn't easy to use for long periods of time so all tests were performed in Standard power mode.

We show a closeup of the underside of the brushroll and walk through the technology.

The WANDVAC is fairly lightweight and we compare it to several other cordless vacuums such as the Dyson V10, the Dyson V15 and the Shark Vertex Cordless.

The grip of the vacuum could be a little large for folks with smaller hands.

We discuss movement of the vacuum on carpet and hard floors. It is average on carpet and fairly good on hard flooring. We've seen better and we've also seen worse.

We perform cleaning tests on low pile carpet and determine percentage pickup. One carpet test used small-to- medium size debris and another test used large debris. We perform similar tests on tile. We then place long black human hair and short white pet hair on carpet and test the vacuum's pickup and how well the cleaner head stops hair tangle.

An edge cleaning test also showed that the unit struggled a bit at cleaning up tight to an edge.

We compare the noise level of the Shark WANDVAC System to the noise levels of several other cordless machines. Measurements were taken in both Standard and BOOST power modes. The WANDVAC is fairly comfortable to work with in terms of noise.
