Machining Titanium on a Pama CNC Machine | Seco Tools

Machining titanium alloys can be challenging. These alloys are commonly characterized by high strength, low thermal conductivity, and chemical reactivity with tool materials (at high temperatures), leading to a strong tendency to adhere to the cutting tool, creating built-up edge and reducing significantly the tool life.

In this clip we can see an example of how to tackle these challenges when milling titanium (Ti6A14V), using Seco’s tooling and a PAMA S.p.A. "SPEEDMAT VMT 2" machine.
