Buying Property in Spain - The day I nearly got conned.

My story starts in 2008 when my wife and I started searching for a home in Spain. At the time we was looking at mobile homes and was interested with a company called Breakaway Homes. Based in the UK but were agents for parks in French & Spain.

Here is a snippet from a write up about Breakaway Homes:
The company had debts of £2.2m. Some customers have lost their life savings after paying for mobile homes which were never delivered.
Pam Griffin sold her house in Calne, Wiltshire, to pay Breakaway £43,000 for a mobile home on a site in Spain. She paid the company in July, but her home had not even been ordered when Mr Jayne put Breakaway into administration five months later.
"He might as well have put his hand in my bag and stolen my purse," she said. "I have worked all my life and it’s all gone. That is my money gone. Where am I supposed to live now?"
