Who Was EXECUTED Inside The Tower Of London?

The Tower of London is one of the most famous and notorious prisons in the world. It developed a reputation during the Medieval and Tudor periods for cruelty, torture and execution. Brutal torture devices such as the Rack were administered inside the Tower, and executions took place within it's walls. There were in fact only 7 executions that took place within the walls of the Tower of London during the Tudor period, with many of these being incredibly high profile. Most of these executions were performed by an axe man, or a swordsman who beheaded the victims.

Today we look at who was executed inside the Tower of London. To have the 'priviledge' of being killed within the Tower, you needed to be a noble of royal or very high class birth. There were three Queens of England who were executed inside the walls of the Tower, and many other nobles. Those other figures who weren't of such a high class birth were taken out of the Tower onto Tower Hill and were executed here.
