Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan has survived a no-confidence motion brought because of his handling of the earthquake and tsunami disaster. Before the motion was debated, Kan told his own political party he would step down when the crisis was under control. March's disaster killed thousands of people and crippled the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant. The World's Marco Werman Interviews Iida Tetsunari from the Institute for Sustainable Energy Policies to get the background on the push for nuclear energy in Japan.
