‘Trainwreck’: Nine Radio facing ‘PR disaster’ over undisclosed commercial deals

The Australian’s media writer Sophie Elsworth discusses the Nine Network’s public relations “disaster” after 3AW failed to disclose radio host Jacqui Felgate’s commercial partnerships.

Ms Felgate was found to have a raft of lucrative deals which were only disclosed by the radio station after The Australian asked why they had not been declared on its commercial disclosure register.

The radio host broke her silence about the scandal on 3AW on Wednesday.

“3AW were aware of these arrangements, but due to a genuine oversight by the station as part of me transitioning to the new role, the commercial disclosure register was not updated on its website, and 3AW has now taken steps to fix that,” she said.

Ms Elsworth said she was initially told there was no comment by the network, but the deals showed up on the website several days later.

“The network at 3AW and Nine Radio have failed miserably because they have not disclosed Jacqui’s 15 lucrative deals that she has,” Ms Elsworth said.
