Early Summer Flounder fishing in Murrells Inlet South Carolina

What a great day to be on the water in early summer flounder fishing in Murrells inlet. I loaded my kayak in search of the biting fish. I had about 3 hours before low tide and started to target my search in the saltwater creeks. As the tide falls, the bait swim out of the creeks and to the main creek channels. There are small packets back in the creek where deep holes trap and hold fish. This is where I found the flounder on this day. I threw a 3.25” Voodoo Shrimp and hooked into my fist 17” flounder. As I was removing the Voodoo Shrimp, I noticed, in the back of its throat, was small shrimp. I then proceeded to catch a 15’ and then a 14”. At that point I knew I matched the hatch and it was game on. I caught all 4 flounder on the same 3.25” Voodoo in Chili pepper with a chartreuse tail.
My only mistake today was rushing the last fish in the boat. In true Flounder fashion, as I raised him out of the water, he shook his head and cut the line. As he swam off, I thought that was dumb, but what a fight. Thanks for playing today.
