Shanty Town - Retraining a Racehorse - Dressage at Swallowfield

Shanty Town is enjoying finally starting to get out an about and this is his second Dressage outing. This time we wanted to see what he thought of an Indoor school so we headed off to Swallowfield Equestrian.
He warmed up nicely working in with plenty of horses and not bothering about them at all.
When the doors opened up to go into the Indoor he was a bit hesitant wondering where we were sending him but he always trusts you and goes!
He was quite amused looking at himself in the mirrors when he first saw his own reflection but he settled himself down and completed a good test for his first time indoors to get 61%. The judge loved him and commented ' has a lovely elastic trot and showing promise. Just needs to relax in the arena then will be a star'.
It is a shame that lockdown prevented us getting him out competing months ago but he is going to make someone a fabulous Dressage /Show horse in time. Shanty is a lovely big 16.3hh, 11 year old who will suit an experienced competitive home with someone who will enjoy continuing his education.
