D1015 Western Champion on the Western Wessexman 7th Sept 2013

On Saturday 7th September 2013 Pathfinder Tours/DBS organised a railtour from Leicester to Weymouth via Birmingham, Worcester,Bath,Westbury, and Yeovil with the recently mainline certificated D1015 "Western Champion" in charge from Bescot and return. The train later returned via Dorchester,Southampton,Reading and Tame Bridge. The train is first seen at Westbury station where it had a crew change and a pathing wait, once a very common sight here in it's proper stamping ground between London and the West of England during the sixties and seventies. The arrival into Weymouth was captured due to the train suffering a slight delay and the shunt movements at the "Jersey" sidings under Alexandra Footbridge. I kept the whole sequence of the "set back" into the station platforms as one could then appreciate the rolling stock that as always looks superb. The trains departure was some what chopped into two as what i could make out was a door opening just as the train passed where the camera was. The locomotive made an emergency brake application and then a re start was made to climb the steep famous "Upwey Bank". During and inbetween the last two sequences my Sister sadly passed away after a long illness so i am dedicating this movie to her as she loved the colour Red and Maroon is the loco's colour so i feel it very apt. Also this loco would have passed through her home town of West Drayton many many times so she would have probably seen it in it's heyday. Finally she was my "Champion".
