The Cornishman - 4965 Rood Ashton Hall & 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe

From our temporary base in Devon, it was a nice, leisurely, drive to Whiteball to pick up "The Cornishman"; a Birmingham to Plymouth excursion hauled, from Bristol onwards, by 4965 Rood Ashton Hall & 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe.
Leaving Whiteball, we headed for Dawlish Warren, passing the locos as they stood in the loop at Tiverton Junction. After a short pathing stop at Dawlish Warren, to allow a Voyager to overtake, the pair were off along the sea wall.
At Plymouth, just before 4965 and 5043 returned from servicing at Laira, 67026 and 67006 arrived with a Truro - Taunton - Plymouth VSOE.
Once the locos and support coach had been attached to the stock in the correct order, and the return timings had been consigned to the firebox, the train departed.
We had planned to go to Woodrow Barton or Stoke Canon, but after a couple of setbacks around Pinhoe we opted for Cullompton instead, arriving at exactly the same time as the train, which was running more than 15 minutes early.
The departure from the Tiverton Junction water stop was as early as the arrival, but we had just enough warning to be able to grab two shots, either side of Pugham Farm.
