Laparoscopic Surgery for GERD/Acid reflux/Hiatus hernia

He was having a hiatus hernia and acid reflux problem for 8 years. Due to the reflux of acid in his food pipe there were ulcers and he needed continuous medications. Initially, the problem was not that severe, but it increased over a period of time.
Hence after esophageal manometry and 24 hr pH study, his surgery was planned. Laparoscopic surgery was done, he had a fast recovery, was discharged the next day of surgery and he traveled back home 2 days after surgery. As per our telephonic follow up he is doing well without medications
GERD surgery (Laparoscopic Fundoplication) is currently the best treatment option for patients suffering from Acid reflux/GERD/Hiatus hernia. Especially for those who are on medications for a long time and who are young.
