Today, we revisit Daytona to talk about the tragic crash in 2001 that took the life of NASCAR racing legend Dale Earnhardt in the final lap of the Daytona 500. Dale Earnhardt was one of the biggest stars in the racing world and over 17 million people watched the crash that claimed Dale's life. Dale Earnhardt was pronounced dead on arrival at 5:16pm at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona, Florida on February 18, 2001. His funeral was held at Calvary Church in Charlotte, North Carolina with a private burial on the grounds of the Earnhardt home. While this is not a public location and we did not visit, we found the only known photos that exist of his grave from Google Earth and Findagrave. Please be respectful of the privacy of the family and do not try to visit this location as it is on private property.
