Thomas Lincoln Grave and His Strained Relationship with Son Abraham Lincoln. Today, we are in Coles County, Illinois to visit the Shiloh Cemetery where Thomas Lincoln, the father of Abraham Lincoln is buried. I will share the story of Abraham Lincoln's visit to this cemetery in January of 1861 with his step mother Sarah Bush Johnston Lincoln, as she saw him for the very last time right here before he left for Washington D.C. to serve as our 16th President. Thomas Lincoln and his son Abraham did not get along well which I will explain as I show you the burial locations of both Thomas Lincoln and Sarah Bush Lincoln as well as the original marker that is in the back of the Shiloh Cemetery here.
