Marantz 2385 Stereo Receiver - One Of The Best! Classic Vintage Audio Repair Restoration Testing.

In this vintage audio video I will show the repair and restoration of my Marantz 2385 solid state stereo receiver. This receiver had several different issues to fix and is more then 40 years old. Like so many older pieces of stereo equipment this Marantz 2385 had been put aside many years ago and was in need of both repair and restoration. I will show how to get that beautiful blue Marantz glow back by replacing the vellum paper. I show the electrolytic capacitor replacement of the entire unit as well as transistor replacements in critical circuits. The power transistor/heatsink tunnel was removed from the chassis and completely serviced. An FM issue was troubleshot and the power switch replaced due to arching. This unit was well worth the effort to fix. This Marantz 2385 receiver should now have many more decades of service ahead of it after the repair and restoration.

I am a hobbyist that repairs and collects vintage stereo gear. Every piece of equipment that you see in my video's is mine. I don't repair other people's equipment and then send them back to their owners. I repair, restore, and bench test every unit. I then install each unit into my own stereo system and do what they were meant to do. Play Music!
