Uniting Youth Behind Equality | Rowan Haffner | TEDxYouth@Brambleton

After having his ACT canceled, Rowan set aside his study books and began to think. He thought about the panicking seniors that needed this score for college, the students who had studied for months, but also the students who faced an even steeper battle. Rowan began researching and learning about students who didn't have the resources he took for granted while studying. In Rowan's talk, he dives deeper into the inequality embedded in standardized tests, and youths' role in combating it. Rowan Haffner is a 16-year-old high school student from Westchester, NY. He loves volunteering, soccer, and speech and debate. He is passionate about youth activism and the importance of using your own voice. Rowan loves giving back to his community and hopes his talk here will inspire others to challenge norms and find their courage.
