Stuffed Taco Burgers on the Grill | The Home Depot Canada
Learn how to make this juicy taco burger stuffed with cheese.

Ingredients
Burgers:
- 1lb medium Ground Beef
- 2 tbsp Taco Seasoning
- 1 oz Cheddar Cheese – Shredded
- 1oz Monterey Jack Cheese – Shredded
- Kosher Salt
- Crushed Black Pepper
Instructions:
1 - Combine Beef and seasoning. Mix well.
2 - Divide ½ a pound of your meat mixture into thirds, then place 2/3 of the meat into the bottom of the burger press. Carefully position the cavity press in the center of your meat and use the press and handle to push the meat down inside the base of the burger press. Gently twist the handle to release the meat and reveal the depression to be filled. The burger press base shouldn’t be more than 2/3 full.
3 - Combine Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheese, form into 2oz balls, flatten into medallions. Place in centre of the meat
4 - Take the remaining ⅓ of meat that you set aside and flatten it out to cover the fillings and meat already in the press. Reattach the larger press to the handle, twisting and locking it in place.
5 - Remove the burger from the press by pushing the bottom plate up. Slide the plate off the burger and place the formed meat onto a piece of waxed paper. Repeat until you have used up all your meat.
6 - Grill your burgers over direct, medium-high heat, around 450°F to 500°F for 5 to 7 minutes per side, flipping only once or twice. Check the internal temperature of the meat (not the filling) for 160F internal temperature.
7 - Toast Brioche Buns lightly on the grill.
Assembly; bottom to top:
Bun, Lettuce, Burger(s), Guacamole, Pico de Gallo, Jalapenos, Hot Sauce, crushed corn tortillas, Bun.
Pico De Gallo Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup finely chopped red onion
- ¼ cup lime juice
- ¾ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 ½ lbs Roma tomatoes, Medium Dice
- ½ cup finely chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions:
1 - In a medium serving bowl, combine the chopped onion, lime juice and salt. Let it marinate for about 5 minutes while you chop the tomatoes and cilantro.
2 - Add the chopped tomatoes and cilantro to the bowl and stir to combine. Season to taste. For the best flavour, let the mixture marinate for 15 minutes or several hours in the refrigerator.
Simple Guacamole Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 ripe avocados - 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
- 1 Tbsp of fresh lime juice or lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons cilantro (leaves and tender stems), finely chopped
- Black Pepper
Garnish
Iceberg Lettuce – shaved
Sliced Jalapeño
