Wine Marinated Smoked Tri-tip with Chimichurri | The Home Depot Canada
In this video, you'll learn how to prepare the perfect smoked trip-tip. This is an easy steak recipe that is perfect for summer. Get your BBQ ready!
Tools You Will Need:
BBQ grill: https://bit.ly/3y8NeEG
Ingredients
2-3 lb Beef Tri-Tip
For the Marinade:
1 cup red wine
1/3 cup Worcestershire
¼ cup shallot
2 garlic cloves, diced
1 tablespoon rosemary, diced
Instructions:
1) Trim excess fat off tri-tip
2) In a large pan, add the marinade ingredients and the trimmed tri-tip. Marinade for at least 1 hour, flipping periodically. Remove meat from marinade and then pat dry.
3) Add the Charcoal tray to the grill, add charcoal and preheat the Grill to 250 degrees F.
4) Add Pre-soaked Cherry Woods chips or chunks directly to the charcoals
5) Add the tri-tip. Cook for about one hour until it reaches an internal temperature of 127 degrees.
Use a Bluetooth Thermometer for accurate measurements.
6) Remove from the grill and let it rest for at least 15 minutes.
7) Slice against to grain
Chimichurri
Ingredients:
2 cups fresh Italian parsley
5 cloves garlic, peeled and smashed
2 tablespoons shallots, finely chopped
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
½ lemon juiced (about 2 tablespoons)
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon red chilli pepper flakes
½ - 3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
Instructions
Combine all ingredients except olive oil, red wine vinegar, and lemon juice into a mortar and pestle. Process until ingredients have broken down but still have texture. Add remaining ingredients and combine.
