Swimmer dies in Sydney's first fatal shark attack in almost 60 years

Beaches from Clovelly to La Perouse are closed this morning after the first fatal shark attack in Sydney in almost 60 years.

A swimmer died with “catastrophic injuries” after the incident at a popular beach in the city's southeast.

Onlookers watched in horror as the Great White shark attacked the swimmer in Little Bay.

This is the first fatal attack in Sydney since 1963.
