Can you really examine the history behind Minecraft parody songs? Yes. Yes you can.
Ironically enough, most who would care about CaptainSparklez and TryHardNinja's "TNT" are now adults. Minecraft parody songs have had a strange rise, fall, and rise again across YouTube. They have a strange relationship to the game's identity itself. There is something very foundational in their existence which continues to influence internet culture to this day. The song/video has developed into a bizarre symbol of YouTube's recent past.
So where did silly block game songs come from, and where did they go?
