14 June ek aisi date jo shuru toh hui thi like any other normal day lekin dopahar hote hote many lives were going to change forever. 34-year-old Sushant Singh Rajput who was regarded as yet another bright young star, who had a promising life ahead of him, was now no more.

The World was shocked at the news and just like any other high profile case, Sushant's death became a hot topic in the news and on social media. Despite a raging coronavirus pandemic and lockdown, the news space in India was largely dominated by only one news for months on end - the sudden and mysterious death of Sushant Singh Rajput.

As various eyewitness accounts came forward, one thing became clear - this wasn't just another case of suicide. There was a lot that had happened before Sushant breathed his last and in the last one year we have seen so much action in this case that is unprecedented for any other celebrity death in India.

The reasons are too many but the biggest one is the fact that that a lot of factors in SSR's death just don't add up. Too many inconsistencies in statements from those who were around him during his last hours, Rhea Chakraborty's role and the accusations levelled by Sushant's family in their FIR, not just against Rhea but also against 5 others including rhea's brother Showik, her father Indrajit and mother Sandhya Chakraborty, Sushant's managers Shruti Modi and Samuel Miranda.

But beyond all of this, what really changed, was the way the Indian audience looked at Bollywood and Bollywood stars. Sushant's death laid bare uncomfortable discussions and action around topics that were so far either brushed under the carpet or simply been accepted as a part and parcel of the Hindi film industry. So on the first anniversary of Sushant Singh Rajput's death, here's a look at what all changed in Bollywood since the death of an actor whose passing has left a permanent void in the hearts of his fans.

NEPOTISM

While Nepotism is a harsh reality it does exist in every sphere of our life. From politics to films, it's common to see kids of those who have been in the business, get an easy entry into the vocation and multiple opportunities irrespective of their skills and talent. But it was SSR's death that put the nepotism debate right in the centre of it all.

Filmmaker Karan Johar especially came under intense fire for pushing star kids in his films and so did many star kids, irrespective of their talent and success - they all faced the heat. From actors who were born into filmy families like Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan to those like Aayush Sharma who are now associated with a film family - no one was spared the wrath of SSR's fans.

CAMPISM

The other harsh reality of Bollywood that got exposed was the CAMPISM.

A recent case in point people from Bollywood say is that of Kartik Aryan, whose face off with Karan Johar later led to him reportedly losing out on other projects too, including a Shahrukh Khan film. Infact, filmmaker Anubhav Sinha did not mince words while exposing the campism in Bollywood. His scathing tweet read, "when Producers drop Actors or vice versa they don't talk about it. It happens all the time. This campaign against Kartik Aryan seems concerted to me and very bloody unfair. I respect his quiet."
