This man you on your screen is no ordinary person. He is PadmaShree Jadav Payeng – the Forest Man of India from Majuli –the world’s largest river island.

Over the last 40 years, he single-handedly planted hundreds of trees on a sandbar of river Brahmaputra, transforming a barren wasteland in Assam’s Johrat district into a lush green forest reserve, that has come alive with the return of many wild animals, birds and bees

His efforts and achievements have been recognized world over, but Jadav Payeng remains humble and dedicated to his cause of giving back Mother Nature its lungs and wild animals their home, that is brutally snatched away from them, by increasing deforestation and human greed.
Today, he is being felicitated here in Dubai to commemorate the international earth day and I was lucky to get him on ronversations
