Sleepless On Beinn a Chliabhain (a wild camp on Arran)

A hike around the Three Beinns is one of the classic routes on the Isle of Arran. While it can be done comfortably in a day, on this adventure we planned to climb Beinn Nuis and then camp on Beinn Tarsuinn, the second of the three before completing the route the following day.
I had a camping spot in mind but even though it was on the lee side of the mountain, it was too windy to pitch the tent. Tired and hungry and with daylight fading, I had to continue in the hope of finding a suitable pitch lower down.
