LION vs LIONESS: Are Lions really cooler than Lionesses?

Are Lions really cooler than Lionesses? In this video we will compare Lion and Lioness to find out what differences are between.
I mention from the beginning that this video is not one in which we try to establish who would win a fight between a lion and a lioness. I think we all know the answer to this question, there is nothing to debate here.

When we talk about lions we tend to refer especially to males. Their proud attitude, unmistakable mane, the fact that they are bigger and stronger, are the characteristics that impress us and determine us to consider males more interesting than females. However, females not only play an essential role in the survival of the group, but they are even superior to males in some respects. So, without any intention of minimizing the importance of males, I decided to dedicate this episode to lionesses to show you that they deserve at least as much attention as males. If you are one of those who believe that the lion has all the strengths to be considered the king of beasts, then you will have to accept that the lioness has all the qualities necessary to be considered the queen. First of all, the lionesses represent both the soul and the brain of the pride. They are always much more numerous than males and more than that, they never leave the group. While the males come and go, the lionesses stay with the group for the rest of their lives and are connected to each other by blood ties. The bonds between lionesses belonging to the same pride are so strong that all sexually mature females give birth to cubs at the same time, so that any female can feed the offspring of others at any time. Then, the females are also the ones who have to provide food for the group. Always, the most experienced lionesses are the ones who lead the group on the hunt, establishing the strategies and the role of each member. There are two main reasons why lionesses are considered by many to be better hunters than males: their superior speed and the fact that they have a much better camouflage than males. First of all, you should know that while adult males have a maximum speed of about 35 miles or 56 kilometers per hour, lionesses reach a maximum speed of 45 miles or 72 kilometers per hour. You all know that, unlike males, lionesses do not have a mane. You probably also know that as they get older, the mane of the males becomes bigger and darker in color. It is no coincidence that most dominant males have this characteristic. A thick, dark mane intimidates other males and attracts females like a magnet, proving that the owner is healthy, strong and full of testosterone. But besides all these advantages, the mane also comes with a big disadvantage: a male with such a large black mane cannot approach unnoticed a fast and vigilant prey. In addition, in the warm climate of Africa, the mane becomes a burden by causing the animal to overheat, thus preventing it from fleeing prey over longer distances. Lacking this adornment, being at the same time faster, more flexible and of the same color as the environment, lionesses are masters of ambush and can kill animals that males cannot approach. But to say that the lioness is a better hunter than the lion seems to me a superficial and wrong approach. Although it is true that lions do not usually hunt fast antelopes on their own, as females do, they compensate with other qualities. First of all, male lions are subjected to a very harsh natural selection, only 50% of the cubs succeeding in reaching the age of maturity. The generation of young males who still live with the group when a defeated king hands over the scepter to a new one, is practically a generation of sacrifice. Those who are not old enough to leave the group and survive on their own will surely be killed by the new master, who will want to pass on his genes to a new generation as soon as possible. He is forced to do so because his reign can be short, and the females will not mate with him as long as they have small cubs to raise. You have to understand that this is not about cruelty, animals make instinctive decisions, dictated by their primary needs. This usually happens at an interval between 2 and 4 years, and this is not accidental at all. I have already told you that all lionesses in a group are related. They are grandmothers, mothers, aunts, sisters, etc.
