DUBROVNIK, CROATIA was a GHOST TOWN!

They warned us that there would be no one in Dubrovnik, and they weren’t lying!

We took a car service from Split to Dubrovnik, Croatia. The drive down the coast leads you through the city of Neum in Bosnia and Herzegovina. 1:28

We stopped in Neum to take some pictures and buy some souvenirs. Our driver showed us a bridge that is being built by the Croatians so that the traffic toward Dubrovnik can be redirected over the island just off the coast, in order to avoid having to drive through Neum. 2:18

Once we got to Dubrovnik, we were greeted by the smallest apartment of our entire trip! However, the location was just outside of Dubrovnik’s old town, and as such was perfectly situated! 4:07

We started to explore the old town of Dubrovnik by looking for a place to eat. We were welcomed by a nice man outside of his restaurant, and then continued onward to a restaurant in the first main plaza. Coming from NYC, it is hard to surprise me and Paige with prices, but a $22 veggie burger will do the trick! 5:21

We walked to the street in the south (up a very steep incline) which runs the southern perimeter of the city. We found a bench and began to realize exactly how empty the old city was. As we began to look at other travel vlogs, we could see how difficult it normally is to walk around Dubrovnik because of the number of tourists visiting. 8:37

At this point, Paige was not feeling well and returned to the apartment for a rest. I continued my exploration to the westernmost area of the city and explored along the coast. 10:23

I continued my exploration outside of Dubrovnik’s old city and headed up a hill to watch the sunset. 11:33

The last order of business for the day was to find something to eat, that I could afford. :-). I found a restaurant outside of the old town called Dubravka 1836, which was great! A ten dollar pizza was just what the doctor ordered! 12:56
