Orphaned Elephants Thrive With Help of Goat's Milk
Nutritionists at the Reteti Elephant Sanctuary discovered that the powdered milk formula they were using was not beneficial to the calves who were less than 6 months old. They found a way to not only give the pachyderms the nourishment they required, but to bring financial resources into their local community. In switching to a formula with goat milk, the sanctuary is able to support Samburu County farmers, many of whom are women, as well as provide a healthier alternative for their infants. #InsideEdition
