DIY Loungewear Pants | Bell Bottom Pants | *Velvet*

Hey Gorgeous ✨,

If you've never worked with velvet before, here are some tips on how to make the sewing easier:

- First of all, the texture of velvet goes in two directions, one is usually darker, one is lighter. Whatever you prefer, make sure to cut every piece in the same direction. Otherwise, you’ll end up with a garment that appears two-toned.

- Also, you want to wash your fabric before sewing, since velvet tends to shrink quite a bit during the first wash. Make sure to clean up the edges with an Overlock or a zig-zag stitch before putting them into the washing machine!

- Velvet is a stretchy fabric, that’s why you should use a stretch stitch during the whole sewing process, such as a zig-zag stitch

- And probably most important, is how you pin your fabric pieces. Velvet was born to slip and move around while sewing, so make sure you pin everything securely together. You wanna pin horizontally as well as diagonally to the ham-line

I think, that’s it. See you soon!
