Performing Agarose Gel Electrophoresis - Edvotek Video Tutorial
For more information about Agarose Gel Electrophoresis, check out our Quick Guide! http://www.edvotek.com/Electrophoresis_Guide.pdf
Electrophoresis is a technique that allows us to separate DNA molecules by size. In this video tutorial, we show you how to perform electrophoresis using brightly colored dyes. Like DNA, the dyes are negatively charged, so they move through the gel towards the positive electrode.
The experiment featured in this video tutorial is titled "In Search of my Father". This experiment simulates DNA fingerprinting, which can be used to determine parentage.
