Rod Liddle: 'Remainers could ask for a referendum after coronavirus'

Kevin O'Sullivan speaks to journalist Rod Liddle about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Rod writes for The Sun, The Sunday Times and The Spectator. He used to write for the Guardian but "it did not really work out in the end."

Mr Liddle suggests the UK is on an emotional tidal wave over coronavirus: "It is worst for the poorest during lockdown...but it is the affluent that brought it here from their skiing holidays"

He expressed some concern about the treatment of elderly people in care homes during the pandemic but added "when I was a kid there were fewer care homes because we looked after the elderly in extended families."

Rod also said given how the virus is affecting the elderly, he "would not be surprised if Remainers asked for another referendum on the European Union soon."
