The Mission (1986) - 'Falls' scene - Part 1

Ennio Morricone's original score to The Mission contains some of the best music ever written for film, and it gets off to an impressive start with two of its most famous pieces in quick succession as the film opens. The film opens with the death of a Jesuit father by the natives, and here, over the film's main titles, his fellow Jesuits bury him and Father Gabriel (Jeremy Irons) sets off on his dangerous ascent to the uncivilised tribes at the top of Iguazu falls.

Starring Robert De Niro, Jeremy Irons, Liam Neeson and Aidan Quinn. Directed by Roland Joffé, and featuring the famous and stunning music by Ennio Morricone.
