House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) just announced that she gave the White House a 48-hour deadline to reconcile differences in stimulus negotiations "to demonstrate that the administration is serious about reaching a bipartisan agreement," Pelosi said on ABC's "This Week" Sunday that the 48-hour deadline only applies to being able to get a deal done before the election. She said she is "optimistic" about the talks, but that a true breakthrough "depends on the administration." Pelosi and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin spoke for over an hour Saturday night, and the discussions yielded "some encouraging news on testing," but the pair still had differences on a plan for testing and contact tracing and "measures to address the virus’ disproportionate impact on communities of color. She explained how “where they have agreement in just talking, we don’t have agreement in the official language yet, but that she is hopeful they can have that soon”. Pelosi explained on Sunday that “the difference amounts to this, the White House administration isn’t clear on what they are saying” She explained how they changed the language in the bill from “will do something” to 'may do something’ in the bill and by doing that she is ultimately just giving the president of slush fund," and she doesn’t want to do that. She said she can’t just give the president a blank check because when they say may in the bill the president “He may do this, he may grant, he may withhold” so that is why they need to focus o the official language. But ultimately when asked straight up are Americans going to get stimulus before the elections, Pelosi responded that “Well, that depends on the [Trump] administration but the heart of the matter is to stop the spread of the virus.”

So if they come to an agreement and get this bill up for a vote Pelosi and Mnuchin came out and released details on this bill. Mnuchin's current offer stands at $1.8 trillion and includes. Another stimulus payment: Stimulus checks up to $1,200 for eligible adults and $1,000 for qualifying child dependents (the CARES Act set dependent payments at $500). Unemployment benefits: The proposal sets enhanced unemployment benefits at $400 a week (down from the $600 included in the CARES Act but up from the $300 that Trump authorized this summer through executive action). Funding for virus testing and tracing: Earlier this week, Mnuchin ceded ground on this previous blocker, saying the White House would include money for coronavirus testing and tracing into its stimulus offer.  State and local funding: A big sticking point, the proposal includes $300 billion for cities and states, up from $250 billion in an earlier proposal.

While Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Thursday that he would not put a potential $1.8 trillion+ deal struck by Democrats and the Trump administration on the Senate floor, he actually just came out after that and changed his mindSo what that means is we need to see what happens with machine and Pelosi and if they come to an agreement we can expect a bill to be voted on and could be passed before the election
