Making a Seat Tube for a Hardtail MTB | Machining, Welding, Bending

The hardtail MTB frame build continues! This may be the most exciting step we've done yet: machining, welding, and bending the seat tube. Specifically, I will be (1) customizing a Paragon Machine Works seat collar by machining it on my lathe, (2) TIG welding it onto the seat tube, and (3) bending the seat tube with my Cobra tube bender that I developed specifically for bending bicycle tubing. I also show how I derived the numbers needed using my bike design in BikeCAD.

Here's the full playlist of the Hardtail Mountain Bike Frame Build—I'll keep adding to it as we go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0okGsgYBObc&list=PLh0BOtXK_s5edhuy-y5C6E41UT-ZLGukE

Here's a full demo of my Cobra tube bender (or Toob Bender) specifically developed for bending thin-wall bicycle tubing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6Gu2UniJT8. And here's the sales page for more info: https://cobraframes.net/store/tube-bender.
