MTB Frame Comin' Along Real Nice! | TIG Welding Seat Stays

Welcome back to the mountain bike build series, where I'm showing all the steps to build a steel mountain bike frame in my small shop. Today, we're TIG welding the seat stays onto the frame, to complete that diamond frame shape!

This video covers the tack welding and finish welding. It was a HOT day for TIG welding, and my biggest struggle was just finding the right position to get at the work and comfortably weld them seat stays.

My apologies if some of the steps in this frame build series are a little repetitive. Of course, a lot of the steps for TIG welding seat stays are going to be similar to TIG welding the chainstays and other tubes. But I hope you enjoy seeing the whole build as it progresses.

Next, I'll be adding a seat stay bridge and a brake tab!
