How I insulated my van build #shorts
Insulating a van is one of the most important things you can do when converting an empty panel van into a camper van. In this video, I insulate my Nissan NV200 with foil bubblewrap reflectix and recycled plastic bottle insulation to keep it warm and free of condensation.

With the van empty, the first step was to remove the bulkhead. With that gone, the van felt much bigger and I could begin insulating.
I’m not living in the van, only using it as a leisure vehicle, so basic insulation for the walls and cavities will do just fine.
On the walls, I stuck foil bubble wrap insulation which is thin so doesn’t limit space in the already small van and, through tests I conducted, turned out to be quite effective in stopping condensation from forming on the metal of the van.
The panel clips were a nightmare to remove, and many broke and needed to be replaced, but once I had them - and the door cards - removed, I began filling the cavities of the walls and doors with recycled plastic bottle insulation wherever I could. I then covered them with a layer of bubblewrap insulation for good measure and replaced the cards.
For the ceiling, I filled the beams with expanding spray foam before adding more foil insulation.
After all of this, I was left with more of a spaceship than a van, but I knew it would be worth the effort and it would all be covered up in my next step - carpeting the van.
