Hello! I'm Jeff Tong, the lead instructor and choreographer for SwingTrain since its creation 4 years ago, creating fun routines with a plyometric twist to make working out fun again!

About Jeff's class:

Time to get Dance Fit with Jeff! These 20 minute work outs will get your heart pumping as you bounce around the room to the joyful tunes of classic Swing, Rhythm and Blues, Electro Swing and Hot Jazz. Dance to new tracks each session and learn some cool swing moves along the way!

Swing Dance is an umbrella term for a collection of dance styles that originated from Harlem, New York from the 1920s-1940s. I have been extremely fortunate to be teaching, competing and performing this style internationally for over 7 years. The main thing that keeps me going is the immense joy and happiness it brings to everyone in the room. You can't help but smile when the music kicks in and everyone is dancing like no one is watching! And that's exactly the vibe of Swing Dance Cardio, we encourage silly dance moves and freestyling whilst still honouring vernacular jazz moves created by African American dancers over 100 years ago.
