At the time of this video, we are at a 50-year low in unemployment. No one is complaining about the availability of jobs. But exactly what kinds of jobs are being created and who is landing the best ones. One could argue that it’s not African Americans. Unfortunately, African Americans still hold a disproportionate number of low-income jobs. Even in a record-breaking labor market, there are simply fewer employment opportunities for African Americans in their prime earnings years. African Americans frequently face outright job discrimination, live further away from where the good jobs are, work in less stable occupations, or experience the likelihood of displacement because of digitization and automation.
Therefore, if you’re graduating from college soon or you are now looking to take your talents elsewhere, we want to give you a look at these counties where job growth will be booming for the next decade to come.
