Hello Vietnam - 헬로 베트남 (다낭, 호이안, 후에)

베트남 여행에서 발견한 보석 같은 노래 "Hello Vietnam" 을 소개한다.
1975년 베트남전에서 패한 미군은 헬리콥터를 타고 사이공을 탈출한다. 하지만, 남베트남 사람들은 작은 배에 몸을 맡기고 조국을 탈출한다. 그들 속 누군가는 벨기에로 갔다. 그 후손인 ‘팜꾸잉 아잉’은 ‘Hello Vietnam’을 부른다.
우리는 어릴 적 친구들과 다낭으로 여행을 왔다. 전쟁 후 많은 보트피플들이 북베트남의 보복이 두려워 후에와 이곳 다낭에서 조국을 버리고 탈출 한다. 하지만 작은 조각배로 거친 바다를 건너기엔 무리였다. 당시 그들의 희생이 가장 많았던 곳이 다낭의 앞바다라고 한다. 나는 이른 아침 이방인으로 다낭의 작은 골목길을 혼자 걸었다. 이국적인 풍경이 아름답다. 귀속의 작은 이어폰에서는 ‘To say hello Vietnam ~’ 잔잔히 들려오는 애잔한 여성의 노랫소리가 내 가슴을 뜨겁게 했다.
모국에 대한 그리움을 갖고 살지만, 한국에 와서 자기 정체성과, 자존감을 회복하기 힘든 베트남 이주여성들... 아마도 이 노래가 고향을 떠난 자신을 지켜낼 수 있는 주문 같은 노래 일 것이다.
