RIB STITCH
For the hem of a sweater, adding a rib stitch edging gives a neat, stretchy finish. Just alter Front Post and Back Post Stitches.
• Front Post Double Crochet (FPDC): Yarn over, insert your hook around the post of the next stitch from front to back, yarn over, pull through (3 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, pull through the remaining 2 loops.
• Back Post Double Crochet (BPDC): Yarn over, insert your hook around the post of the next stitch from back to front, yarn over, pull through (3 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, pull through the remaining 2 loops.
This single-row ribbed hem is a great way to add a clean, finished look to your sweater without too much extra work.
