Choosing the right hook for creating your crochet projects is essential for achieving the best results. My top 3 tips:

1. Match the Yarn: Check the yarn label for the recommended hook size. Using the suggested size helps maintain the correct gauge and tension. If there are no labels just try the hooks one by one.

2. Consider the Material: Hooks come in various materials like aluminum, steel, plastic, bamboo, and wood. Each offers a different feel and grip, so choose one that feels comfortable in your hand. My personal favourite is the steel one with no handles.

3. Project Type: For intricate patterns and fine details, smaller hooks are ideal. For bulkier projects like blankets or scarves, larger hooks work better. However, for a tighter pattern use bulky yarn and a smaller size of the hook.
