Sometimes well meaning providers fill patients' heads full of thought viruses with advice like you should never deadlift again, squats are bad for you, or your flexion days are over. Remember, there are no good or bad movements or good or bad exercises, only too much of one thing and not enough variability. A cut on the back of the knuckle is a great example to tell patients why they may need to avoid flexion for a bit, but not forever.
