On the Wrist, from off the Cuff: San Martin – SN007-G2, 2nd Gen 62MAS Homage vs. Seiko – SBDC101

On this episode we do a full review and comparison of upstart brand San Martin's latest 2nd Gen 62MAS homage and contrast it against Seiko's very own SBDC101 (SPB143). On paper and at a glance these two are quite similar with the San Martin even having the edge in a few categories but when you get into the details, we start to see where the Seiko pulls away... and it should for its increased cost. The San Martin is quite an excellent $250 auto diver and does offer a ton of value for money, sure it's not quite as refined as the Seiko but what it lacks in refinement it makes up for in value proposition. Which would I have? The SBDC101 of course, it's one of Seiko's best releases to ever hit the Prospex line but that doesn't mean that I can't appreciate what San Martin has been able to accomplish with their fine little SN007-G2.
