a poem: I'm Not Normal

my poem, written June 30th, 2013.

I'm not normal
not like him, and him, and her on the bus
not like them all, who are OK,
going about their business,
undistressed.

I'm not normal
because I can't look at the world
and just get on with it
no business as usual for me
no schedule in my brain
no route for my thoughts to take
thoughts are scattered, shattered, loose.
My gut nauseous,
my eyes frightened, my brow tense.
Lost.

I'm not normal
I'm more like a ghost
separate from everyone else
floating undefined, untogether, unclaimed,
and unrhymed.
