"The Last of Us" Premiere Event by HBO in New York City

On January 12, 2023 HBO held a preview screening of the first episode of "The Last of Us". Based on the hit Naughty Dog/Sony game from 2013, the series stars Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. Anna Torv stars as Tess and Merle Dandridge reprises her role of Marlene from the game. Other actors include Melanie Lynskey, Nick Offerman and original game stars Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson playing different roles.

This premiere took place at the Angelika Film Center in New York City. The entire theater was rented out and dressed up as a post-apocalyptic headquarters of the Fireflies, a faction seeking to overthrow the fascist FEDRA government. Actors were in costume playing the roles of soldiers and bringing guests into activities.
