What is the future of the European Union? Will it break apart? If yes in what time frames?

EU seems to be having lots of issues lately. Ever since Brexit, many were speculating that more countries will decide to leave the union and go their own way. This could also influence all of us, especially when it comes to residency and citizenships.

EU passport is among the most valuable travel documents in the world. Not only that you can travel to many places visa free, you can also live in any country that's an EU member, which is fantastic. Freedom of movement and freedom of trade are only few of the amazing benefits that the EU offers. It is a concept that brought many advantages to people.
But unfortunately, there are many negatives as well. Will these negatives overweigh positives, so the EU breaks apart?

Is it possible that we have another form of union or unions to replace the European Union? What does the future hold for Europe?
