Today we are going to talk about avoiding social contributions. We are going to be looking at this from a global perspective and especially for countries such as Serbia, Slovenia, and Portugal's NHR program, etc. since we got many questions from people regarding social contributions and taxes in those countries.
Tax rates might be low, but what to do about high social contributions? Today we are going to be talking about some of the strategies that you could use, that are not talked about often.
In the last few months news has been full of stories about unjust treatment that the government is giving to freelancers and anybody who works online for foreign clients. They want to tax these people 5 years retroactively, and beyond that, they want to charge all the socials for that time. This is ridiculous because these people couldn't benefit from those socials all that time, and now have to pay for something that they could never use. Since the status of online workers is still very unclear in Serbia these people are not able to benefit from socials even today, and probably not in the near future. BUT they have to keep paying them. Fair? Not really.
Can you somehow circumvent this type of thing? Is there a hack to avoid social contributions? Yes, there are a few actually, and we are going to give you some examples today.
